While you may think that you are displaying your products and services, the consumer actually considers your business look the display. They will lurk around and walk by your stand several times, looking at your exhibit as if it is art. As such, you should turn your exhibit into artwork that will attract and impress everyone there. Everyone at the tradeshow has the potential to be a customer and the more creative you are with your stand, the more creative the consumer will believe you are.
There are several ways to appear well organized and creative. First, consider what image you want your business to have. Do you want a traditional and classy look? Does your product or service offer something a bit trendier and you want to mirror that through artwork and design? The key is to decide on a theme and make the area around your stand create a storefront into your business.
You will want to capture the attention of the audience, and then have them stay at your booth long enough to get real answers or convince them that what you have, they need. To do this, the customer must feel comfortable in your area and undistracted. While it is hard to hold a potential customers attention at a tradeshow due to all the background noise and commotion, a few things can help accomplish this task.
Have your signage that explains key points to the customer. Have literature that explains more key questions and facts available while they wait. It is important that the literature is labeled, easy to access and organized. A literature stand works best. Have lighting that softens the tone and creates a mood. Also, you will want to light up your backdrop banner to capture the people as they walk in the door. Dividers and retractable banners work well to create a barrier and block other visions and sounds between you and other vendors, making it easier for the potential consumer to pay attention to your product or service. As always, look professional at exhibits. You are running a business, not visiting with your neighbor, and as such you should use professional displays.
